Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival and check in at Papallacta Hot Springs begins at 2:30 pm. Continue with a welcome meeting followed by free time to enjoy the beauty of Papallacta highlands of the Andes and its natural hot springs.

DAY 2

Enjoy the morning at the hot springs alone or with your new medicine friends before heading to Tena. The Kuyaloma community will be ready to welcome you and prepare you for your first purifying process with a traditional steam bath with leaf and flowers of medicinal plants. Later, Don Luis will introduce and teach you about 21 medicinal plants traditionally used by the community. You will receive a concoction of these plants to help you clean your system during the retreat.

DAY 3

Prepare yourself for a jungle walk on the way to the sacred waterfall of Las Latas. At this sacred site, you will be offered sacred liquid tobacco to snort and receive a limpia with Surupanga leaves and the assistance of the waterfall spirits. On the way back through the rainforest, Don Luis will identify some of the medicinal plants and teach you about them. Early afternoon, you will be invited to partake in the preparation of the sacred medicine and get ready for your first evening with mother Ayahuasca.

DAY 4

After breakfast, you will venture on a 90 min walk to our second sacred land, Pasurco. At this point you will rely on candles, battery lamps, spring water, and the pleasant sounds of nature. After lunch, you will be invited to receive a mud bath at the river and get ready for a sharing group. Today is your second night with Ambi Mama, mother medicine.

DAY 5

Jungle walks are an ideal way to integrate your process while you collect Huambula, a purging plant used to detox the sinus, clean your eyes, and open your third eye. Today you will have time to dance, practice some yoga or breathwork, as well as time to rest and engage in group sharing.

DAY 6

In the morning, you will take a few hours to enjoy a jungle walk and observe traditional hunting devices and spend some time meditating by an ancient sacred rock. Often thunderbolts spirts are present, and you may receive their energy for your third ceremony tonight. Late afternoon, you will have the option to ingest liquid tobacco and receive abuelo’s sprit. This will clean your system and allow you to have clearer visions, pintas.

DAY 7

It is time to honor your stay at the deep jungle of Pasurco, say goodbye to the sacred land, and reintegrate back into the community of Kuyaloma in Tena. On the way back, you will have time at the local market to buy fruits and souvenirs. Lunch will be ready for you at the community and there will be some resting time. Don Luis and Juan will join the group in the afternoon for an evaluation and Q/A. Your last ceremony is in a slightly different setting to assist with the integrations. Individual limpias will not be provided, instead we will have a group experience.

DAY 8

After a morning sharing and group process, you will embark on a long tail boat to Napo beach and experience one of the largest rivers of the Ecuadorian Amazon. You will visit another Kichwa community, their botanical garden, and their wild animal rescue center. In the afternoon, the community will present a traditional dance and have some hand crafted souvenirs ready for you to purchase.

DAY 9

Hugs and good wishes for your visit to the community and openness to welcome our indigenous ways. You will carry our sacred medicine blessings with you as you head back to the Papallacta Hot Spring. This is an ideal time to rest and start connecting to the western world in a gentle manner. There will be another group sharing and individual coaching, if needed, to close your journey in the afternoon. On the way back, there will be a visit to the Kalari Cacao factory. You will be able to purchase cacao products. This company is run by local indigenous families, supporting their economy and their local crops.

DAY 10

Enjoy a leisurely morning at the hot springs and prepare for your way back home. The resort offers space services like massage and cacao wraps. Advance booking is recommended. The resort fills rather fast, so if you desire to stay an extra night, please make your reservation on time.
