Organized and Led by Indigenous People
Safe & Inclusive
We hold clear boundaries, to create a safe environment for the diversity of our human experience, and to maintain awareness of gender, cultural, and racial social challenges. We strive to balance power dynamics and foster communication while respecting our sacred ground and tradition.
Integrative
We offer plenty of time in nature and community activities to allow the gentle assimilations of the work. In addition, we offer an evaluation of your medicine journey, group sharing, and individual counseling.
Authentic
Our retreat takes place within our Kichwa community and sacred land. We offer small groups, one on one with the shamans, and time with the community and nature. Your participation supports our culture, rainforest conservation, and the sustainability of our medicine.
Supportive
You will have a Spanish-English translator, cultural mediator, clinical counselor, shaman, and host supporting you in and out of ceremonies, as well as pre and post retreat counseling.

Our Family
Kuyaloma Community
The community consists of about 200 family members, one elementary school and several houses spread throughout their rainforest land. During weekends and holidays they all meet at the school's basketball court to play sports, socialize, play music, and celebrate.
Even though most members work in town at regular jobs, their community traditions are still alive. When the community needs to build a house or work in the field, they all contribute and support each other.
Don Luis and Doña Ines are regarded as the head chiefs or elders in this community, and they oversee the wellbeing of each member. At times when newborns or children do not have the ideal family conditions, Luis and Ines adopt and raise these children as their own.
Ayahuasca ceremonies and herbal medicine is their primary healing method and nowadays their main source of income is from hosting visitors for traditional practices. They deeply appreciate newcomers.
Ambi Mama
Mother Medicine
Ayahuasca
Ayahuasca (Banisteriopsis Caapi) Brew is a visionary medicine that helps to heal physical, psychological, and spiritual illness. It has been used in the Amazon native traditions for thousands of years as their primary health method of healing and for vision quest to start new projects.
In Kuyaloma, our ceremonies are held in the traditional way to help individuals face their unresolved emotional and spiritual challenges, so their bodies can heal and be restored to health. No dogma or specific belief is preached, allowing participants to have their own experience free of conditioning and allowing the spirit of Mother Aya guide them.
The process is therapeutic in essence, helping heal layers of trauma by purging, letting the nervous system discharge, creating new pathways, and regulating the system itself. Integration is a major part of our retreats, as it is the main part of the work that begins when you bring your new experience and awareness to your day-to-day life.
Aya does not make you enlightened, nor does it take your issues away, nor does it cure your illness miraculously. It helps your system reorganize itself, so healing can come in. It brings awareness to where things are not flowing and helps you to get things moving. It meets you where you are and enhances your self-understanding. It teaches you how to heal, transform, and empower yourself, so that you can be more present and live fully. It is about taking charge of your life.
